By integrating responsible sustainable tourism, community partnerships and ecosystem management, Coral is fighting for the survival of more than 50% of the worlds coral reefs now in danger of complete destruction. The Bently’s are avid divers and have seen pristine reefs ruined by humanity’s callus treatment of the oceans. Not all of the time Coral’s teams is spent in the magical waters around the world. The Coral Reef Alliance is a Mac based non-profit and Bently Holdings is also an Apple based company so it is natural that we donate our technology to Coral whenever possible. TNDC Pool Toss
Published: October 11th, 2007 Filed as: Community supportFor the second year Bently Holdings has supported the TNDC (Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation). This year the Bently’s themselves participated by getting set to get wet. After a dramatic entrance, Christopher and Amber Marie were tossed and dove into the pool to help raise over $280,000.00 for children’s programs and housing efforts benefiting families in the Tenderloin. The neighborhood got it’s name from the days when police were paid more to work it’s rough streets enabling officers to buy better cuts of meat. Thanks to organizations like TNDC, much is improving for the quality of life of hundreds of families throughout San Francisco’s varied tenderloin without gentrifying the unique flavor or spirit. Bently Holdings is a strong supporter of TNDC, helping make one of San Francisco’s culturally rich neighborhoods safe and enjoyable for those in need.
Leap

Being artists themselves, the Bently’s both know the value of encouraging creativity when people are young. This year, 20 groups, each comprised of a team of architects, contractors and kids from each of San Francisco’s public grade schools. Creations ranged from turtles listening to iPods to steaming volcano’s demonstrating this years theme, “Nature Rocks”. It was a tough job as there were no losers. Each sand creation took away an award and every child went away with a wonderful memory of inspired creation. The day raised thousands of dollars for Leap and will enable them to continue inspiring young children to create and dream.

ROAR and Shambala
Published: September 13th, 2007 Filed as: Our Environment, Community supportSeptember 2007 saw the launch of Amber Marie Bently jewelry on Union Square. The best part of the sold out event was that all proceeds and sales went to benefit the ROAR foundation and the Shambala preserve. Good friend Tippi Hedren came to support Amber and educate people on what Tippi does with her ROAR foundation. ROAR is dedicated to saving big game cats (we are talking lions and tigers here folks) who have been subject to abuse, improper care or management and in desperate need of a home. Most of her cats are born in captivity or orphaned and come to her in pretty bad shape. She cares for them and gives them a real home where they can be wild again at the Shambala preserve on her ranch in southern California. It takes $75,000.00 a month to care for her cats so please join the Bently’s in supporting Tippi’s endeavor to love and care for these majestic creatures.
