Published: October 30th, 2007 Filed as: Community support

The Bently Reserve teamed with Friends of the Urban Forest and Playalove again for the second annual Spiderball. Once again, all proceeds were donated to Friends of the Urban Forest, helping San Francisco become more beautiful one tree at a time. This years mayhem was even more over the top solidifying the event as San Francisco’s premiere holloween event. Among cirque by El Circo, Burning Man’s own Celtic Forest, beds lining the perimeter of the entire party and the bazaar happenings of love and amazement was San Francisco’s own yet world renowned Bassnectar. We can’t wait for next year to be even more outrageous!
On October 27th, 2006, Bently Holdings hosted the first ever Spider Ball, brought to you by the Bently Reserve and Playalove. Spider Ball was a halloween event beyond your wildest dreams celebrating music with DJ Colette, DJ Smoove and DJ Tamo all amidst fire shows, fortune tellers, a VIP Voo Doo lounge, cirque, art and general halloween madness.

Long time supporters of PAWS Christopher and Amber Marie Bently were very proud to donate use of the Bently Reserve and host the 20 year anniversary celebration of the organization. PAWS (Pets Are Wonderful Support) helps people who suffer from a disability, sickness or advanced age keep their animals by giving the support animals need such as walks, food and medical assistance. As a non-profit they rely on volunteers and fund raising to survive. The anniversary gala saw attendance by Robin Williams, Willie Brown and Wilkes Bashford. It was a truly magical night to see so many strong and long time supporters of such a wonderful heartfelt charity. The night raised thousands of dollars to further the hope of people faced with losing their animals while in a time of great need.

TNDC Pool Toss

Published: October 11th, 2007 Filed as: Community support

For the second year Bently Holdings has supported the TNDC (Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corporation). This year the Bently’s themselves participated by getting set to get wet. After a dramatic entrance, Christopher and Amber Marie were tossed and dove into the pool to help raise over $280,000.00 for children’s programs and housing efforts benefiting families in the Tenderloin. The neighborhood got it’s name from the days when police were paid more to work it’s rough streets enabling officers to buy better cuts of meat. Thanks to organizations like TNDC, much is improving for the quality of life of hundreds of families throughout San Francisco’s varied tenderloin without gentrifying the unique flavor or spirit. Bently Holdings is a strong supporter of TNDC, helping make one of San Francisco’s culturally rich neighborhoods safe and enjoyable for those in need.

Leap

Leap is an organization that teaches and enforces the importance of art and creativity to kids. Being artists themselves, the Bently’s both know the value of encouraging creativity when people are young. Christopher and Amber have long supported Leap and this year had the honor and fun of being judges for Leaps largest fund raising event of the year, the Sand Castle Classic. This year, 20 groups, each comprised of a team of architects, contractors and kids from each of San Francisco’s public grade schools. Creations ranged from turtles listening to iPods to steaming volcano’s demonstrating this years theme, “Nature Rocks”. It was a tough job as there were no losers. Each sand creation took away an award and every child went away with a wonderful memory of inspired creation. The day raised thousands of dollars for Leap and will enable them to continue inspiring young children to create and dream.
